Here’s how to join the celebrations at Dubai’s The Theatre at Mall of the Emirates on 6 May.
Candlelight: 100 Years of Warner Bros. commemorates 100 years of the world-famous studio, and pays tribute to its history. The set list includes musical favourites: Pure Imagination from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Shallow from A Star is Born, and Dreaming of You from Selena.
Film and TV theme tunes include Friends’ I’ll Be There for You, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’s Hogwarts’ Anthem, Purple Rain’s Purple Rain, Scooby-Doo’s Theme Song, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring’s Suite, and The Exorcist’s Theme Song (Tubular Bells).
What makes Candlelight: 100 Years of Warner Bros. extra special is that the concerts will be taking place in 75 cities across the globe. The other locations include London, Mexico City, Milan, New York, Paris, São Paulo and Singapore.
Warner Bros., originally known as Warner Brothers Classics of the Screen, was born in 1923. The Warner brothers consisted of Albert, Harry, Jack and Sam. In the 1920s, the studio released The Jazz Singer, which signalled the start of talking pictures. Since then, the studio diversified into television, video games and animation – Bugs Bunny, anyone? Today, it is one of the big five major American studios.
Candlelight: 100 Years of Warner Bros. hosts two performances on the night at 6.30pm and 9pm, and each show lasts 65 minutes. Visitors must be eight years old or above, and anyone under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
