Bringing burrata to the blockchain.
How do you like your glow in the dark dishes? Greek Chef Alexandros Sperxos has mastered the art of the sensory dining experience. Think scallops on a bed of smoke or neon orange burrata perfectly placed on tomatoes dressed with pesto – casual, right?
Chef Speroxs is taking things a step further by combining his passions for food and art with digital tokens. Non Fungible Tokens (NFTs) initially started as art or music-related digital files stored on a blockchain network. Now chefs and restaurants alike are getting creative in the kitchen, bringing their burrata’s to the blockchain.
For those who are still not familiar, NFTs are a great way to buy and sell digital art, concepts and assets. Once purchased, you’ll receive a token that is a certificate of authenticity to prove that you own the asset.
Chef Sprexos welcomes guests to his exclusive real-world experience. The first collection of Chef Sperxos’ special NFTs includes digital artwork of Glow in the Dark dishes based on the menu. The Harvest: burrata salad, The Ocean: scallops, The Hunt: Wagu steak, Sweet of the Greek Gods: Greek orange cake and mocktails, The Art of Vitamin: berries and The Volcano: mint infused with wild bee honey.
Chef Sperxos commented, “This is the first of many artistic masterpieces curated on a plate, whilst entering the world of NFTs and I am excited to showcase them to the world. My cooking ethos is to use the highest quality organic ingredients, and my style of cooking is to always deliver dishes with an artistic flair – using shapes, colours and textures which create a unique culinary experience. Stay tuned for my next craziest concept of fine dining and NFTs – it’s not to be missed!”
Hungry for more? Bidders will have the chance to meet Chef Sperxos at a private glow in the dark experience located in The Alley Al Quoz – the UAE’s first and only dark padel courts.
