Enjoy Irish drinks and DJs at this exciting Yas Island bar.
It’s not long to go until Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix races into the capital. Ahead of the spectacular sporting event, Ultimate Fighting Champion superstar Conor McGregor has announced that he is hosting a special F1 pop-up alongside the race.
Conor McGregor hails from Dublin, Ireland, and is drawing inspiration from his hometown of Crumlin. As Black Forge Inn, a local Irish pub that he owns, teams up with Abu Dhabi’s The Irish Vickers, it is creating a pop-up at Yas Plaza Hotels on Yas Island.
Abu Dhabi’s Black Forge Inn can accommodate up to 1,000 visitors, and includes Irish hops, a VIP area and big screens to watch the action. The guests include DJ Mason, DJ Rob Forrest, DJ Niall Conlon, and Fearghal O’Neill. Plus, if you fancy rubbing shoulders with Conor, we imagine that he will be make an appearance.
Conor is a former Ultimate Fighting Championship featherweight and lightweight double champion. He is currently ranked at number 14 in the UFC lightweight rankings. As a mixed martial artist, he is trained in boxing, kickboxing, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, karate, taekwondo and capoeira.
Conor is no stranger to Abu Dhabi, as he has been in the capital before for the UFC Fight Island series. Across the UAE, he has been spotted in Emerald Palace Kempinski on Palm Jumeirah and on a private yacht in Yas Bay.
It’s not just about the race during F1, as there are plenty of exciting parties and concerts. The F1 Yasalam After-Race concerts take place at Etihad Park in Yas Island, and include British rap artist Dave and American singer Usher on 17 November, Swedish House Mafia on 18 November, and Kendrick Lamar on 19 November. The concerts culminate with rock legends Def Leppard on 20 November.
The Black Forge Inn pop-up is open on 17 November from 5pm to 2am, and from 18 to 20 November from noon to 2am. Cheers to that.
