The Swiss watchmaker celebrates a century of its groundbreaking waterproof wristwatch.
Rolex is celebrating 100 years of the Oyster with a new collection of seven watches, each one drawing from the legacy of the brand’s most influential creation. First introduced in 1926 as the world’s first waterproof wristwatch, the Oyster changed the course of modern watchmaking. A century later, Rolex is using that milestone as a springboard for a new chapter.
This year’s releases balance heritage with forward momentum. While the collection pays tribute to the original Oyster, it also reflects Rolex’s continued focus on performance, materials innovation and refined design language. Across the range, the brand leans into dial artistry, precious metals and updated mechanics, all underpinned by its Superlative Chronometer certification, represented by the signature green seal.

Leading the line-up is the Oyster Perpetual 41, positioned as the standout model of the anniversary collection. Rendered in yellow Rolesor, it pairs an Oystersteel case and bracelet with a yellow-gold bezel and crown. The slate dial carries the inscription ‘100 years’ at 6 o’clock, while the winding crown is engraved with the number 100, offering a direct nod to the centenary.
The Oyster Perpetual 36 takes a more playful route. Its multicoloured lacquer dial introduces the Jubilee motif, with letters spelling ‘Rolex’ repeated across the face. Ten individual colours are applied one by one using pad printing, giving the watch a bold, graphic identity that feels more expressive than expected.

Elsewhere, the Oyster Perpetual 28 and 34 expand the smaller reference family with two solid 18-carat gold models. The 28mm version arrives in yellow gold with a green stone lacquer dial, while the 34mm is presented in Everose gold with a blue stone lacquer dial. Both are finished with satin-brushed bracelets, and natural stone hour markers at three, six and nine o’clock add a more decorative edge.
The Datejust 41 remains closer to classic Rolex territory, though its lacquered green ombré dial introduces a more dramatic visual effect. Set in white Rolesor, the watch pairs a darkening gradient with the familiar fluted bezel and date window, bringing added depth to one of the brand’s most recognisable silhouettes.

For those drawn to technical complexity, the Yacht-Master II is the most ambitious release of the group. The regatta chronograph has been completely reworked around the new calibre 4162, which drives a counterclockwise-running countdown. Available in Oystersteel or yellow gold, it features a pared-back dial, winch-inspired pushers and a blue Cerachrom bezel.
Rounding out the collection are the Day-Date 40 and Cosmograph Daytona. The former introduces Jubilee Gold, a new proprietary 18-carat alloy blending notes of yellow, grey and pink for a more nuanced finish. The latter appears in Rolesium, combining Oystersteel and platinum, with a white enamel dial, an anthracite Cerachrom bezel, and a sapphire crystal case back for a sharper, more contemporary take on an icon.
