The iconic German sandal brand Birkenstock has just dropped its latest collaboration with Repetto, a Parisian cult classic shoe company. The Birkenstock x Repetto collection features three new footwear styles inspired by Repetto’s speciality in ballet flats and dance-inspired designs.
Coming just after a successful collaboration with Sacai, Birkenstock is back with another highly anticipated partnership, this time inspired by the fashion trend ‘balletcore’.
The German footwear brand has launched the new Birkenstock Repetto collaboration as part of its 1774 line — its Paris-based special projects and collaborations unit. The three new styles take inspiration from the art of ballet and the fashion styles surrounding it, blending elegance, femininity, and contemporary Parisian design influences.
Pastel tones, feminine patterns, and soft silhouettes define this ballet-inspired footwear collection. All three styles are offered in European sizes 35 to 42 and come in three Repetto shades, Iconic Pink, Flame Red and Profound Black.
The Birkenstock Arizona sandal comes with exclusive oversized round buckles and a gingham-patterned insole. The Repetto x Birkenstock Scala features a patent upper, a closed round toe, two top straps, and a small lace-up bow. The Opéra is another closed-toe style, decorated with long laces that wrap around the ankle like a ballet dancer’s ribbon.
Charlotte Gaucher-Holmann, Chief Executive Officer of Repetto, said: “We introduced our signature color palette through shades of pink,red, and gingham, while incorporating refined details such as our iconic grosgrain ribbon. Rather than reinventing Birkenstock’s designs, our goal was to enhance them with Repetto’s feminine and joyful codes, creating a collection in which both identities remain immediately recognizable.”
