Audi’s forthcoming flagship SUV brings a larger cabin, luxury-led technology and premium three-row seating.

Audi is preparing to raise the stakes in the luxury SUV segment with the global reveal of the Q9 on 29 July 2026. Positioned above the Q7, the new flagship model is designed to take on established full-size SUVs such as the Mercedes-Benz GLS and BMW X7, while strengthening Audi’s appeal in markets such as the Middle East, the United States and the United Kingdom.

The Audi Q9 marks a significant step for the German marque, combining a larger three-row layout with a cabin focused on comfort, technology and craftsmanship. The interior is set to be one of the biggest talking points, with a triple-screen arrangement forming the centrepiece of the dashboard. This includes a curved central touchscreen, a digital driver display and a passenger-side screen, creating a connected cabin experience for both drivers and guests.

A flat-bottom steering wheel will add a sportier edge, while the centre console takes a cleaner approach, featuring fewer capacitive controls and an integrated wireless charging dock. The result is a cabin that feels more streamlined, placing the emphasis on digital interaction, passenger comfort and ease of use.

Luxury details continue throughout the SUV. The Q9 will feature automatic opening and closing doors, a large panoramic roof, Alpaca Fibre and Nappa leather, and a six-seat layout with individual second-row seats. These seats will be electrically adjustable, heated and ventilated, making the model particularly well-suited to chauffeur-driven journeys and long-distance travel.

The arrival of the Q9 also signals Audi’s intention to compete more directly in the full-size luxury SUV category, where space, presence and onboard technology are key selling points. For the Middle East, where large premium SUVs remain highly desirable, the model is likely to attract interest from families and luxury car buyers looking for comfort without compromising on brand prestige.

The CEO of Audi, Gernot Döllner, said: “With the Q9, ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ is increasingly defined by the in-car experience. Cars have long been much more than just a means of transportation; they are mobile living spaces for our customers. Premium materials, variable seating with individual electric seats in the second row, and automatic doors underscore the commitment to quality in our new, large full-size SUV.”
