Above Rooftop: A hip new rooftop bar with Burj Khalifa views

Enjoy sundowners and sights at Sofitel Downtown Dubai’s luxury lounge.

There’s always something special about visiting a rooftop bar, and having a breathtaking view of a city. So, we were thrilled to hear that Above Rooftop is opening in Sofitel Downtown Dubai and that it offers Insta-worthy views of the Burj Khalifa.

Above Rooftop is a luxurious lounge located on the hotel’s fifth floor. The bar is set to be a cool new hangout in Downtown Dubai. Whether you’re craving after-work drinks, sundowners or dinner, the menu includes signature cocktails and international food, which ranges from light bites to main meals. 

We are expecting Above Rooftop in Dubai to have a playful yet funky vibe, as the Instagram account teases us with fun images of the Mona Lisa drinking a cocktail and Frida Kahlo taking a selfie. The space includes soft seats aplenty, colourful cushions and neon lights on the wall. Plus, thanks to the state-of-the-art sliding windows and ceiling, everyone can enjoy those Downtown Dubai views.

Sofitel Downtown Dubai is already home to some great restaurants and bars, such as L’Apero, Wakame Modern Asian Cuisine, Inka Peruvian Restaurant and Mafia Dubai. Above Rooftop appears to be a more energetic spot, as it will also host live entertainment and themed nights.  

Above Rooftop’s operations manager, Ziad Choueiry, explains: “We are pleased to announce the addition of the rooftop lounge this September to our growing F&B portfolio. Being in a multicultural city like Dubai, we are confident in delivering the highest possible standards and pushing the limits to stay creative. Our dedication and experience in the nightlife market will help cater exclusive experiences among many other reputed venues.”

Above Rooftop in Dubai launches on 16 September, and it will be open all year round. The bar will open daily from 5pm. It’s time to raise the roof.
