Celebrity favourite Barfly by Buddha-Bar lands in Dubai

The Parisian brand makes its Dubai debut at Hilton Dubai Palm Jumeirah.

If it’s good enough for A-list celebrities like Madonna, Naomi Campbell and Reese Witherspoon, it’s good enough for us. Barfly by Buddha-Bar is opening this month in Hilton Dubai Palm Jumeirah, and looks set to bring some Parisian chic to the city.

The concept for Barfly by Buddha-Bar started in Paris in 1995. The venue draws inspiration from the eccentric German American writer, Charles Bukowski, whose gravestone reads, “don’t try”. Plus, the original venue prides itself on combining a restaurant, bar, lounge and live DJ in one establishment.

Barfly by Buddha-Bar in Dubai looks set to be a rooftop hangout with a difference, and has panoramic views of Palm Jumeirah and the Arabian Gulf. When you enter, you are greeted by a sculpture of the Goddess of Victory – the original can be found in The Louvre in Paris. Plus, the sultry venue boasts neo-baroque design, and deep reds, purples and golds.

Bring along your besties, as the food menu is great for sharing. It’s all about international dishes with an Asian touch. The starters include lobster gyoza, bao buns and nigiri rolls, ranging from a spicy tuna roll to taiyo roll. The mains include octopus parrillero, baked Canadian lobster, USDA beef tenderloin, Wagyu short ribs and lamb chops.

If you’re a fan of dry ice theatrics, which are great for the gram, then you’re in luck. There is an expansive list of cocktails, which are beautifully prepared.

At the heart of Barfly by Buddha-Bar in Dubai is live entertainment. We’re talking about everything from electro-tribal beats to a troupe of acrobatic dancers. The group of dancers will also perform on special occasions including Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve.
