Jass Lounge is Dubai’s new jazz club

The small, sultry jazz lounge opens in DIFC.

There’s a new jazz venue in town that’s hitting all the right notes. Jass Lounge is located in DIFC, and hosts live music including jazz, soul, funk and blues. 

What the space lacks in size – it’s on the small side by Dubai standards – it makes up for in class. So, if you’re keen to check it out, book your table in advance. There are some coffee table books on jazz here and Parisian Diptyque candles there, which all make this a sophisticated spot.

The musical line-up celebrates the best live jazz musicians in Dubai. The current schedule sees live music take place from Wednesday to Saturday night. In the past, there has been a mix of jazz performers, from saxophonists to singers.  

Jass Lounge has welcomed Tona & Friends, who have performed classic jazz music, and Nuvo Soul, a funky four-piece band with lead singer Carrie Gibson, who have played a mix of soul, blues and reggae. While Sincopa Ti knows how to get the party started, as the Cuban quartet have bought a vibrant blend of Latin jazz to the venue. 

The no-nonsense cocktails are elegantly presented, so don’t expect any Insta-gimmicks. The bar manager Ziyan Mohamed (aka @the_bar_dude) is behind the creative creations, and has put a lot of passion into the cocktail list. He’s even been spotted behind the bar in a Mexican-inspired apron, adorned with Day of the Dead motifs. 

The menu only serves drinks and doesn’t (yet) include food. At Jass Lounge, music is the food of love and we are happy for them to play on.
