Mövenpick Resort Al Marjan Island opens a family-friendly getaway

The Ras Al Khaimah hotel boasts a floating water park and water sports.

There are so many great reasons to visit Ras Al Khaimah, and now that Mövenpick Resort Al Marjan Island has opened, we can add another to that list. The five-star resort is impressive in scale, with 418 rooms, suites and chalets overlooking a 300-meter stretch of private beach.

Located beside the beautiful blue waters of Al Marjan Island, the resort is nestled between the serenity of the Arabian Gulf and the drama of the Yanis and Jais Mountains. The hotel’s rooms are unique because each one boasts a balcony and swoon-worthy views of the sea.

If you’re looking for the next family-friendly getaway, then keep Mövenpick Resort Al Marjan Island on your radar. Kids will be entertained by the floating Wibit water park, water sports and the all-year-round Starfish Adventure Kids Club.

Many of the rooms are designed for big families, for example there are two-bedroom suites with not one but two private pools. The Al Marjan Beachfront Chalet is one of the largest, combining four beachfront suites into one chalet. Translated: that’s four bedrooms, four living spaces, four outdoor areas and two private pools.

In the hotel, you can eat and drink your way around a variety of cuisines. There’s international fare, from European to Asian food, at the relaxed, all-day eatery The Market. Sit outdoors or indoors – if you opt for the latter, we’d suggest settling in by the impressive indoor tree or open kitchen.

The restaurants also include a new outpost for Ula (which has already proven popular on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah), a beachside Mediterranean restaurant; Beach House, which offers Californian food on, well, the beach; Boons with a modern twist on a neighbourhood brasserie and bar; and Möca Lobby Lounge with sweets, pastries and ice cream. In September, Neo Sky Bar opens and is a rooftop lounge serving cocktails alongside views of Ras Al Khaimah.
