Be dazzled by the new Brown Bear Magic Café in Dubai

The UAE’s first illusion-themed café has plenty of tricks and treats. 

Open sesame. As the first illusion themed café and shop opens in the UAE, it’s time to get into a magical mood. Brown Bear Magic Café is located in Jumeirah 1 in Dubai, and is a family-friendly venue that celebrates the world of magic.

Brown Bear Magic Café has just opened in The Village Mall. The new chilled hangout includes a café and shop. The venue is attracting customers with the oldest trick in the book – top quality coffee – which comes from the local roaster RAW Coffee. The menu includes ice teas, juices, milkshakes and mocktails, plus pastries, sandwiches and salads. 

When you enter Brown Bear Magic Café, it feels like you’ve stumbled into a magician’s den. The cosy décor includes comfy lounge chairs, pretty foliage, and tartan blankets, as well as cushions. Plus, you’ll find old school posters of magicians on the exposed brick walls, and chairs with card-shaped clubs, diamonds, hearts and spades on them.

Created by a community of online magicians, the café has taken eight months of planning and three months of building. The shop stocks special card decks, from Sherlock Holmes to James Bond themed sets. The games include Tornado Cube, Opticks and Mystery Decks. Plus, you can pick up props including sharpies, coins, ropes, silk ties and, of course, a magician’s hat.

If you want to unleash your inner magician, there are books on magic tricks for beginners. Staff members are on hand to impress you with their wizardry, which will leave you baffled. In the future, the venue aims to be a hub for local and international magicians, and put on magic shows for the public.
