Capri’s only two Michelin-starred restaurant launches a pop-up in Dubai

Ristorante L’Olivo at Al Mahara is now open at Burj Al Arab.

Slow dining, celebrity haunts, proudly eccentric, homely and unpretentious – regardless of your culinary preferences, the tiny Italian island of Capri has something for everyone, world-class gastronomy included. No restaurant, however, boasts two Michelin stars to its name besides L’Olivo. Bonus: it’s no longer located over 4,000km away, as Ristorante L’Olivo at Al Mahara is officially up and running in Burj Al Arab Jumeirah.

Ristorante L'Olivo

Offering guests an unforgettable dining experience, this L’Olivo pop-up brings together a combination of Italian culinary craftsmanship and flavours of the sea created by the acclaimed Chef Andrea Migliaccio of Capri Palace Jumeirah. Elegant yet relaxed, it serves divine Mediterranean flavours and innovative dishes under the alluring glow of the coral reef aquarium that stands proudly at the heart of Al Mahara. Incidentally, Migliaccio is a native of the island of Ischia located just northwest of Capri and was therefore surrounded by the very best Mediterranean ingredients from an early age. Famed for reinterpreting the region’s gastronomic traditions, his recipes are a personal expression of his culinary intrigue.

Ristorante L'Olivo

“The menu at Ristorante L’Olivo is inspired by simple principles,” says Migliaccio. “I want to share an intense journey of authentic flavours from Capri and the Mediterranean, where I grew up.” Ristorante L’Olivo at Al Mahara, which Migliaccio oversees, offers diners in Dubai the chance to sample the signature flavours of its counterpart at Capri Palace Jumeirah. Standout dishes include the Merluzzo Nero Black Cod finished with coffee and liquorice, Tagliolini paired with tuna tartare and bottarga, and Blue Lobster served with sweet and sour vegetables. Guests can choose to dine à la carte or indulge with a specially designed Tasting Menu created by Migliaccio, which offers the crème de la crème of the pop-up’s dishes. Sit back and enjoy five divine courses, starting with Scampi Langoustine and ending with the likes of Nocciole e Limone, Gianduja Mousse, Hazelnut Crunch, and Lemon Sorbet.

Ristorante L'Olivo

In striking contrast to the white columns, soft natural tones and fine artworks of the Capri outpost, guests in Dubai are treated to the vibrant marine-inspired setting of Al Mahara. Here, shimmering metallic walls greet guests as they walk through the golden passage leading to the underwater world of Ristorante L’Olivo, while navy blue accents combine with soft white and gold hues to complete the restaurant’s luxurious décor.
