ZOE Modern Greek Kouzina has opened its doors in the Marsa Al Bateen vicinity.

Greek cuisine had its moment in Dubai – the sheer incidence of Mediterranean restaurant openings in recent years proved our culinary enthusiasm for all things grapes, grains and olives. Clearly, the capital is following suit, what with the debut of Oii and the reopening of MAZI. As for the latest address of contemporary Greek cuisine? Meet ZOE Modern Greek Kouzina.

Located in the waterfront Marsa Al Bateen area, this new restaurant pairs premium ingredients with uplifting recipes, resulting in dishes served in a relaxed ambience designed to echo the sun-kissed Greek islands – think: vibrant Bougainvillea flowers, delicate custom-made ornaments, and imported works of art. Incidentally, the Greek word ‘zoe’ translates to ‘life’, and this theme is represented throughout every element of this new entity – interiors, branding and design included. Thoughtfully curated in every sense, the circular logo symbolises life and connection, while the three flowers pay tribute to the three friends who founded the charming eatery.

Upon entering, guests will immediately notice the handpainted mural. Taking pride of place in the centre of the restaurant, this striking work of art was lovingly crafted over several weeks and perfectly embodies ZOE Modern Greek Kouzina’s infectious energy and inspiring spirit. Designed to blend seamlessly into the local environment and bring the magic of the Greek coastline to the capital, everything from the furniture to art accents comprise natural ingredients such as quality wood and carefully nurtured blooms.

The menu, meanwhile, features delectable starters, healthy salads, tasty dips, freshly baked breads, wholesome main courses and handcrafted desserts, each category designed to showcase ZOE Modern Greek Kouzina’s creative take on Greek cuisine. Prioritising quality over quantity, it presents 32 carefully crafted dishes spanning everything from traditional favourites such as tzatziki dip and spinach-and-feta pastries to signature creations like pastitsio croquettes and seafood linguine.

Catering to carnivores and vegetarians alike, Head Chef Anthony Palea has concocted family-style sharing specialities such as beef moussaka topped with a rich bechamel sauce, an innovative vegan moussaka, and shrimp saganaki. Combining sustainable and locally sourced products with authentic Greek ingredients, the savoury options are further enhanced with smooth Greek coffees, refreshing mocktails and juices, and indulgent desserts such as home-baked Greek pastries, burnt cheesecake, bougatsa and more. And while extras like live music and an enticing terrace encourage diners to linger, those pressed for time ought to give the business lunch at ZOE a try – a starter, a main and a drink is priced at only AED 79 per person, thereby offering great value for money.
