Located in Dubai Creek Harbour, the under-construction mall is expected to be three times the size of Downtown Dubai.

Dubai knows how to make our lives comfortable. Whether it is cars filled up at the press of a button or food delivered straight to our doors, we are spoiled. Now, the drive-through mall, Dubai Square, is coming to the city, and here’s what you need to know.

Located at Dubai Creek Harbour, Dubai Square has been in the works for years. Emaar Properties has completed the design, and it looks set to be a spectacular space. The under-construction mall is expected to be three times the size of Downtown Dubai, with a cost of AED 180 billion and is expected to open in three years. The development combines entertainment, hospitality and shopping. The area will include 10,000 residences, 1,500 hotel rooms, and 7,500 square metres of retail.

Mohamed Alabbar, Emaar Properties Founder, explained: “After fifteen years of catering for a hundred million visitors on a yearly basis and over 1,500 retailers, Emaar has a great wealth of knowledge and experience and is perfectly capable of doing the same with the new project while still seeking retailers’ advice as we do this development.”

“We are trying something exciting,” he was quoted as saying by Khaleej Times. “This will be the first time cars can enter a mall, so it will be very unique. We did not come up with this ourselves, we learned it from somewhere.”

Dubai Square

Dubai Square will be developed with state-of-the-art technology and boast a contemporary, innovative design. The mall will utilise Artificial Intelligence to provide convenient shopping solutions. The design features skylights, sculpted LED installations, glazed roofs and expansive glass façades, all working together to create an open, contemporary feel. Lush landscaping will add green spaces and shaded walkways, shaping a refined, welcoming environment where natural elements blend seamlessly with cutting-edge architecture.

The development will also be connected to Dubai Creek Tower, which was once envisioned as the world’s tallest.
