Elegant Lebanese restaurant Amar is now open in Jeddah

The stunning space includes an art installation.

You’ll have your head in the clouds – well, installations of them – at Amar in Jeddah. The Lebanese brand has expanded to Saudi Arabia, and the new restaurant serves elevated Levantine food in a stunning setting. Located in Al Andalus, here’s what you need to know.

Amar is a popular restaurant in Beirut and famous for its Lebanese food. The branches include Amar Café in Downtown Beirut, Amar Seaside overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, and Amar Harissa in the Harissa Mountains. The restaurants all pride themselves on sourcing premium ingredients and creating high-quality Lebanese dishes.

The restaurant boasts an installation by the Italian designer Jacopo Foggini. Located on the ceiling, it is inspired by clouds and changes colour. He explains: “The new wonderful project has a sculpture that looks like a cloud, which covers part of the ceiling. It’s made by hand, piece by piece. It’s a long job and it has specially been done for Amar in Jeddah. There are 2,500 pieces, which altogether compose an installation on the ceiling. It will be the best restaurant in Jeddah.”

Amar spans indoor and outdoor seats, which include long tables for groups, round tables for two and a terrace with high tables. The elegant space includes terracotta chairs, wooden tables and golden wall features.

If the previous restaurant’s menus are anything to go by, we’re expecting salads, hot and cold mezze, raw meat, grilled dishes, fresh fish and vegetables. Plus, Amar’s popular desserts include brownies, chocolate fondant, knafeh, othmaliye and profiteroles.
