This marks the brand’s second hotel in Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia is home to a range of spectacular hotels, from homegrown brands to international names. Now, one of Thailand’s leading hotel and property development companies, Dusit International, has announced the opening of dusitD2 Al Ahsa. Scheduled to open in 2027, the new property will be located in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Al Ahsa Oasis.
dusitD2 Al Ahsa is situated 30 minutes from Al Ahsa International Airport and 90 minutes from Dammam. Set among palm-fringed landscapes, the hotel boasts dramatic mountain views. The resort will feature 120 suites, ranging from one-bedroom to three-bedroom options. Each suite also includes a private terrace and plunge pool.
Designed by Cairo-based El Ghoneimi Architects, dusitD2 Al Ahsa draws inspiration from the natural beauty of the desert. The surrounding oasis is home to more than two and a half million palm trees.

Dining options will include an all-day restaurant and a lobby café serving light bites. Facilities will include a wellness centre, meditation areas, and spaces for yoga as well as holistic healing. Additional amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, a children’s pool, and a kids’ club. For events and business travellers, there will be a 1,500-square-metre ballroom, an outdoor event lawn and multiple meeting rooms.
This marks the second Dusit-branded property confirmed for Saudi Arabia, with Dusit Princess Al Majma’ah in Riyadh scheduled to open by the end of 2025.
Mr Gilles Cretallaz, Chief Operating Officer, Dusit International, explained: “This important signing reflects our strategic commitment to bringing Dusit’s unique brand of Thai-inspired, gracious hospitality to key destinations worldwide and our dedication to delivering sustainable value for the communities we serve.
“We are delighted to partner with Al Ghadeer Group to create a destination that celebrates Al Ahsa’s rich heritage and natural beauty while offering exceptional comfort, modern luxury, responsible design, and memorable experiences for guests of all ages.”
