Partner Content: Across a multi-market collaboration, Buddha-Bar Group and Lyre’s tested what zero-proof cocktails can look like when they are treated as a craft category.

January 2026 marked a notable moment in the evolution of mindful drinking, as Lyre’s Non-Alcoholic Spirits partnered with the Buddha-Bar Group for “Zero Regrets. Full Experience.” Running across 11 venues in four countries and two continents, the collaboration set out to explore cocktail culture from a different angle, keeping the flavour and ritual intact while removing alcohol from the equation.

The activation played out across Buddha-Bar Paris, Buddha-Bar Dubai, Siddharta Lounge Dubai, Barfly Dubai, Siddharta Lounge Abu Dhabi, Zeera Abu Dhabi, Bushra Abu Dhabi, Buddha-Bar Beach Abu Dhabi, Karma Ras Al Khaimah, B-Lounge Doha, and Siddharta Lounge Muscat. Each venue introduced its own zero-proof signatures built around Lyre’s products, with menus designed to feel deliberate.

Across the UAE and the wider Middle East, several venues reported sustained demand throughout the month, to the point that selected drinks have remained on permanent non-alcoholic menus after the campaign ended.

The popularity also reflects a broader recalibration in regional drinking habits. Guests are increasingly seeking balance and intention without giving up premium experiences. In that context, zero-proof cocktails are starting to function as a category in their own right, judged on complexity, texture and presentation rather than framed as a substitute for “the real thing”.

Buddha-Bar Lyre's

For Buddha-Bar Group, the collaboration aligned with its long-standing focus on immersive hospitality and detailed beverage programmes. Lyre’s approach, built around re-creating classic spirit profiles without alcohol, gave bartenders a familiar framework while still demanding fresh thinking.

So while many people may still enjoy a glass of grape or a cocktail, they now expect non-alcoholic alternatives that feel just as considered and premium. Lyre’s – a parent of the FACT Dining Awards – and Buddha-Bar demonstrated that great drinks have never depended on alcohol, and Dry January this year was only the stepping stone for them, with more ideas to come.
