With one show already sold out, Mo Amer has added a second show on 10 October.

Dubai is ready to laugh again as the Dubai Comedy Festival returns with a stacked programme and a headline run from Mo Amer. Initially announced for three performances, demand has been intense. One date is officially sold out, and tickets are running low for the other two. To meet the demand, a new late show has been added on Friday, 10 October at 9pm.

For Amer, this chapter feels like a return to where it all began in the city. He first performed in Dubai at the festival in 2020. Five years later, he steps back onto the Dubai Opera stage with fresh material, new stories and the stage presence that has made him a global name. The venue’s intimate acoustics and sharp sightlines promise a close connection between comic and crowd.

Since his last set in Dubai, Amer’s star has continued to rise. Screen credits include Black Adam with Dwayne Johnson and the critically acclaimed series Ramy on Hulu. His semi-autobiographical Netflix show MO became a breakout success, earning a Gotham Award, a Peabody and a place on The New York Times list of Best Shows of 2022. The final season arrived earlier this year to strong reviews, reminding audiences of his blend of social insight and precise punchlines.

On stage, expect material that explores fatherhood, fame and identity. Amer’s style mixes candid observations with warmth and sharp timing, moving from personal stories to cultural commentary in a way that feels immediate and resonant.

Presented by Live Nation Middle East, the Dubai Comedy Festival lineup also features Akaash Singh, Joanne McNally, John Achkar, Morgan Jay, Omid Djalili, Tom Segura and Zakir Khan. Now in its fifth edition, the festival spans multiple languages including English, Arabic, French, Hindi and Russian, reflecting the city’s diverse audience.

Tickets to see Mo Amer at Dubai Opera are priced from AED 295 to AED 595. Secure seats before they sell out again.
