A brand new entertainment complex will debut in Dubai this month

GLITCH will take up residence at one of Dubai’s oldest malls, Al Ghurair Centre.

With temperatures crossing 40ºC as we speak, Dubai residents will take any excuse to linger (even) longer in one of the city’s megamalls — but not every indoor activity caters to the whole family. Enter: GLITCH, a soon-to-open entertainment complex that spans 40,000 square feet at Al Ghurair Centre. Set to launch on 19 June, it promises to revolutionise family entertainment in Dubai. Here’s how.

Owned and operated by Al Ghurair Properties, GLITCH will be one of the region’s largest family-focused entertainment centres, housing more than 30 interactive attractions designed for children, teens, and the young at heart. The region’s latest entertainment facility will offer a host of activities, including Newton’s Wall, an ultimate climbing challenge that dares thrill-seekers to test not only their physical, but also their mental strength as they attempt to defy gravity. Wannabe ninjas, meanwhile, can level up at Kazu by tackling multiple warrior courses that test strength and agility.

In a first for the city, there’s an indoor roller glider SkySurf, which will allow visitors to get their adrenaline pumping as they zip around the ceiling, ten metres high, embodying the feeling of flying. We’re told that GLITCH also offers a gaming haven hidden within its walls. GamePort Arcade caters to all age groups, with nostalgia-inducing video games alongside the newest Virtual Reality experiences for hours of entertainment. It’s also home to BeastBowl, an eight-lane bowling centre fitted with state-of-the-art automated scoring from Brunswick.

The entertainment complex also offers a region’s first: Pandora’s Peak, an ultimate challenge dedicated to fearless children as young as four. The youngsters can clamber their way from level to level, through cotton candy clouds until they reach the top. Meanwhile, Loop-de-Loop takes children on a rousing journey of twists and turns before they zoom down a ten-metre-high platform.

GLITCH will be open Sunday to Thursday from 10am to 10pm, and Friday and Saturday from 10am to 12am.
