Sky Adventures in Sharjah opens a paragliding centre

The thrilling experience welcomes beginners and professionals.

Go up, up and away with Sky Adventures in Sharjah. The new paragliding centre has opened, and is the perfect place to unleash your inner Maverick. So, if you’re a thrill seeker, here’s what to expect from the UAE’s latest sporting experience.

Sky Adventures in Sharjah is situated on Al Faya Mountain. The experience gives guests the rare chance to fly like a bird, and admire the region’s natural beauty. The centre offers a range of experiences for amateurs and professionals, so if you’re looking to learn new skills, here’s what you need to know. 

If you’re new to paragliding, sign up for The Tandem Commercial Flight. The flight is in tandem with an instructor, and the experience lasts 15 minutes and starts from AED 750. 

For the more experienced flyer, there is The Guided Flight. This is designed for licensed pilots, and takes visitors 5,000 feet in the air. The flight includes weather observation, equipment checking and full ground support. The experience starts from AED 350. 

The Training Basic Course is designed for beginners who are hoping to fly solo. The experience consists of five solo flights, and training equipment is provided. Participants can also apply for a paragliding licence, which is recognised internationally. The course lasts four days and starts from AED 8,000. 

Eisa Hilal Al Hazami, the chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, shared: “We look forward to increasing the number of paragliders and fostering a sport culture in Sharjah through this centre.”

At Sky Adventures in Sharjah, there is no minimum age limit, but under 18 years olds must have parental consent. The maximum age limit is 75 years old. Adventure awaits.
