The world’s first Real Madrid theme park is opening in Dubai

Celebrate the legendary football club across rides, shops and museums.

Footie fans, this is going to hit the back of the net. Dubai has announced that it is opening the world’s first Real Madrid theme park. The new experience will celebrate the world-famous football club, and create a one-of-a-kind theme park experience. Scheduled to open before the end of 2023, it will include Real Madrid-inspired rides, shops and a museum. 

Dubai’s Real Madrid theme park is a family-friendly experience, which hopes to engage and entertain people with footballing activities. Immerse yourself into the sport through audio-visual displays, interactive experiences and games. The attractions include a football skills games, food and beverage outlets, and shops selling memorabilia from Real Madrid’s history.

Fernando Eiroa, Chief Executive Officer at Dubai Holding Entertainment, explained, “Real Madrid is a megastar of world football and one of the world’s most recognised sports teams, with an unmatched track record of success and millions of passionate supporters from every corner of the planet.

“We look forward to engaging sports fans, families, and children in new and exciting ways and supporting an active youth community across the UAE. This project is in consonance with our vision to contribute to enhancing Dubai as a leading tourist destination.”

Real Madrid can trace its origins back to 1902, as football was introduced to Madrid by academics and students from institutions including Oxford and Cambridge. In 2021, it was named the second highest-earning football club, and today it is worth an estimated $5.1 billion.

The world’s first Real Madrid theme park will join Motiongate, Legoland Dubai, Bollywood Park Dubai and Lapita Hotel at Dubai Parks and Resorts.

The news comes as football fever sweeps across the Middle East. It’s just a matter of days before FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 begins, which runs from 20 November to 18 December. As Qatar welcomes thousands of visitors and fan zones pop-up across the region, this is just another way to enjoy the beautiful game.
