The Greek restaurant from Sunset Hospitality Group is heading to the capital.

The capital’s Greek dining scene is getting a new addition. AMMOS Greek Restaurant is preparing to open on Jubail Island in Abu Dhabi, bringing Sunset Hospitality Group’s Mediterranean restaurant brand to the capital. The venue appears on the group’s official list of forthcoming openings, although a launch date has yet to be announced.

Set between Saadiyat Island and Yas Island, Jubail Island is known for its mangroves, waterfront setting and nature trails. It is an appealing backdrop for a restaurant that takes its cues from life beside the Aegean, with an emphasis on Greek hospitality and food made for sharing.

AMMOS Abu Dhabi

Diners in Dubai will recognise AMMOS from Rixos Premium Dubai, where the restaurant pairs its Greek menu with views towards Ain Dubai. The brand also operates at Rixos Premium Qetaifan Island North in Doha, extending its Mediterranean approach to Qatar.

Named after the Greek word for sand, AMMOS centres its identity on familiar recipes and produce sourced from Greece. Most of the restaurant’s ingredients come from Greek suppliers, with a cooking style that gives traditional dishes contemporary touches while keeping their origins easy to recognise.

While the Abu Dhabi menu is still to be revealed, Dubai and Doha offer mezze such as tzatziki, taramosalata and tyrokafteri, a spicy feta dip, alongside Greek salad, moussaka and prawns saganaki. Seafood plays a prominent role, with grilled octopus and seafood orzo sitting alongside chicken souvlaki with pita and lamb chops.

The opening forms part of Sunset Hospitality Group’s continued expansion in Abu Dhabi. Its existing portfolio includes Black Tap at Mamsha Al Saadiyat and SUSHISAMBA Abu Dhabi at Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers, which combines Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian influences and won Best Fusion Restaurant at the FACT Dining Awards Abu Dhabi 2026. Yama Lounge will also open at Jubail Island, while Mott 32 is also marked as opening soon, with the Hong Kong-born Chinese restaurant set to add another major name to Sunset’s growing collection of restaurants in the capital.
