Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque launches night tours

The Abu Dhabi marvel will now be open 24/7.

In a move that has visitors and locals buzzing with excitement, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque has just unveiled that it will be open around the clock, offering a night culture tour service

Commissioned by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is a testament to his vision of creating a place that unifies the cultural diversity of the Islamic world. Completed in 2007, the mosque is not merely a place of worship but a living testament to the UAE’s rich heritage and artistic prowess.

As daylight fades, the mosque transforms into a breathtaking spectacle. Illuminated by the soft glow of countless chandeliers and the moonlight, its white marble facade takes on an ethereal quality. The newly-introduced night culture tour called the Sura Evening Tour is the perfect opportunity for visitors to experience this magical transformation from 10pm until 9am.

With a capacity to accommodate over 40,000 worshippers, the mosque boasts the world’s largest hand-knotted carpet and one of the most extensive marble inlay works. Its courtyard, adorned with reflective pools, adds a serene touch to the overall atmosphere.

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque remains a must-visit destination for those seeking an immersive cultural experience. The intricate details, the grand architecture, and the historical significance make it a jewel in the crown of Abu Dhabi’s cultural landscape. So, whether you choose to explore it by day or simply bask in its nighttime allure from afar, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque offers a journey into the heart of Islamic art and heritage.
