Here is everything you need to know before Formula 1 takes over Yas Marina Circuit from 3 to 6 December 2026.

The Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2026 is back, and once again the UAE capital has the honour of closing the championship. The 18th edition takes place at Yas Marina Circuit in December, with four days of entertainment surrounding three days of racing. From practice and qualifying to superstar concerts and destination dining, Yas Island becomes one of the busiest places in the UAE during Grand Prix week. The 2026 race is particularly significant as Formula 1 continues its new technical era, featuring redesigned cars, updated power units and 100 per cent sustainable fuel.

    Choosing your tickets

    F1 weekend

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix tickets sell fast, so book early. The first decision is where to watch the action. Four-day Grandstand tickets currently start from AED 2,395, with options including the Marina, West Straight, North and North Straight grandstands. The Marina Grandstand pairs racing with views across the yachts and W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island, while North puts spectators close to the heavy braking and overtaking action at Turn 5. West Straight is another strong option for seeing cars arrive at speed before attacking Turns 6 and 7.

Those looking to dial things up can explore premium and hospitality categories. The programme spans air-conditioned Yas Suites, dining-led spaces and private corporate boxes, with restaurants including CÉ LA VI, COYA and Ninive involved in selected experiences. Premium ticket categories currently begin from AED 2,995, while Premium Hospitality starts from AED 11,295.

Make The Most Of Your F1 Ticket

A Grand Prix ticket now stretches well beyond the circuit. Eligible three- and four-day ticket holders receive complimentary one-day entry to either a Yas Island theme park or teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi. Cultural perks also include access to attractions such as Louvre Abu Dhabi, Qasr Al Watan, Zayed National Museum and Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi, subject to the conditions attached to each ticket category.

The circuit itself is packed with Fanzones and Oasis areas offering food, merchandise, entertainment and driver appearances. Selected four-day tickets also include Thursday’s Pit Lane Walk, giving fans the chance to get closer to the garages before the serious racing begins.

    Stay close to the action

    F1 weekend

If convenience is the priority, Yas Island remains the best place to base yourself. W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island is the headline address, sitting directly over Yas Marina Circuit and placing guests at the centre of the weekend. Other nearby options include Crowne Plaza Yas Island, Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island, The WB Abu Dhabi, Curio Collection by Hilton, Yas Plaza Bay, Yas Plaza Circuit, Yas Plaza Mangroves, Yas Plaza Marina and Staybridge Suites Abu Dhabi – Yas Island. The luxe resorts of Saadiyat Island are also a short drive away.

Booking early is essential. Race weekend typically places considerable pressure on hotel availability across Yas Island, while staying farther into Abu Dhabi city will require additional travel time before sessions and concerts.

    The Race Weekend

    Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Although Grand Prix celebrations begin on Thursday, 3 December 2026, Formula 1 track action starts on Friday, 4 December 2026. Free Practice 1 is scheduled for 1.30pm, followed by Free Practice 2 at 5pm.

Saturday, 5 December 2026 raises the stakes with Free Practice 3 at 2.30pm before qualifying begins at 6pm. Sunday, 6 December 2026 is the main event. The format gives Abu Dhabi its signature spectacle, with the race beginning around sunset before the circuit lights take over.

    The Yasalam After-Race Concerts

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Concerts The Script

F1 weekend in Abu Dhabi would not be complete without the Yasalam After-Race Concerts, and 2026 already has a sizeable line-up.

Thursday, 3 December 2026 opens with two artists as Zara Larsson and Lewis Capaldi perform at Etihad Live, formerly Etihad Park. Saturday, 5 December 2026 belongs to Imagine Dragons, with the Las Vegas band taking over the venue after qualifying. Race Day concludes with another double bill on Sunday, 6 December 2026 as The Chainsmokers and The Script close the weekend.

Four-day ticket holders receive general admission to all After-Race Concerts, while Golden Circle upgrades provide closer stage access, fast-track entry and dedicated beverage points.

The entertainment actually starts even earlier. Andrea Bocelli will perform at Etihad Arena on Wednesday, 2 December 2026, as part of Yasalam Classics, providing a rather different soundtrack to the week before Formula 1 takes centre stage.

    Getting To Yas Marina Circuit

Traffic becomes considerably busier during Grand Prix weekend, so give yourself plenty of time. Yas Marina Circuit is located on Yas Island, close to the airport and easily reached by taxi, Careem or Uber. The Yas Express also operates as a complimentary shuttle around Yas Island, although race-week transport routes and operating hours should be checked closer to the event.

Comfortable shoes are a wise move, particularly if you plan to move between grandstands, Fanzones, Oasis areas and Etihad Live. December evenings can also feel cooler after sunset, so an extra layer is worth carrying.

With the championship finale, confirmed headline artists, theme park access and some of the capital’s biggest hospitality experiences all packed into one weekend, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix remains far more than 58 laps around Yas Marina Circuit. Secure your seat, plan your route and get ready for the chequered flag.
