BLU Pizzeriá has expanded from Dubai to Abu Dhabi. The much-loved homegrown pizza place is now opening at Sunrise Residences on Saadiyat Island, bringing its Neapolitan-inspired creations to the city.
Emirati-owned BLU Pizzeriá draws its inspiration from Naples, Italy, the birthplace of the humble pizza. The wood-fired pizzas come with a range of toppings, which also have influences from the Middle East. If the original menu is any indication, then diners are in for a treat.
At 5,000 square feet, the Abu Dhabi branch is Blu’s largest to date, featuring an expansive space that extends outdoors by the sea. Designed with natural materials, clean lines, and a calm, neutral palette, it reflects Blu’s minimalist ethos of simplicity, craftsmanship, and good food.
The menu features classic and creative takes on pizzas, perfect for the more adventurous diner. The classics range from the Burrata with basil and cherry tomatoes to the Spicy Pepperoni, featuring cheese, Parmigiano Reggiano, and spicy salami. The creative options range from the Short Ribs, featuring Black Angus short ribs, caramelised onions, and truffle white sauce, to the Musakhan, served with chicken, cheese, and a sour cream sauce. Popular in Dubai, the Spicy Wagyu Pizza does not feature; however, the location will soon be home to an Abu Dhabi-exclusive flavour.
To celebrate its Abu Dhabi debut, Blu has introduced three exclusive dishes available only at this branch: a limited-edition pizza crafted for the capital, a signature appetiser, and a unique spin on tiramisu.
Founded by Emirati entrepreneur Abdelrahman Alteneiji, Blu Pizzeria draws inspiration from his travels, Alteneiji created a brand that unites the warmth of tradition with a modern, local twist. “Our goal has always been simple: serve great pizza that brings people together,” he says. “With Abu Dhabi, we’re excited to share our story and create new memories with a wider community.”
BLU Pizzeriá is also located in An Nakheel in Riyadh and at Umm Suqeim Fishing Harbour in Dubai. There will also be upcoming international launches in London, New York, and Los Angeles.
