Dubai’s only marine-themed entertainment hub blends real habitats with next-gen storytelling.

Atlantis, The Palm is set to transform its much-loved aquarium into The Lost World Aquarium on Monday, 27 October 2025. Seventeen years after its original debut, this next chapter at The Palm introduces a fully reimagined experience for all ages. The attraction will open daily from 10am to 9pm, promising a fresh mix of animal encounters, technology, and education.

At the heart of the update is an ambitious use of custom technology that pushes the concept of a traditional marine exhibition. Guests will be immersed in projection mapping and precision-engineered soundscapes. The scale is impressive, with more than 1,900 LED panels, 55 high-powered projectors, and over 140 speakers that reshape the space into a vivid seascape. Across fourteen interactive and themed rooms, bespoke artworks meet cinematic visuals and interactive storytelling, all guided by an original score composed specifically for the attraction.

The transformation extends to the living collection. The aquarium welcomes 430 new marine animals across 35 new species and introduces nineteen new habitats, each designed to reflect the rich biodiversity of the oceans. Entertainment takes centre stage with the debut of the live mermaid show, ‘Return of the Trident’, performed in the 10-metre-deep Ambassador Lagoon, one of the largest open-air aquariums in the Middle East and Africa.

Education remains a core focus. The Lost World Aquarium aims to make learning accessible and engaging, with interactive digital displays that highlight the realities of climate change and its impact on marine life. The result is an experience that entertains while encouraging a deeper connection to the natural world.
