An immersive climate change show is coming to Expo City Dubai

Molecule’s latest composition uses music to address the impact of climate change.

This year, the UAE celebrates the Year of Sustainability. And with COP28 taking place in Dubai, the city is buzzing with things that promote a greener future. COP18 will see some of the world’s biggest dignitaries come together to discuss the impact of climate change and the efforts to combat the negative consequences that arise. And for that reason, Molecule — known as the pioneer of nomadic electronic music — has been invited to host an immersive show.

Taking place at Expo City Dubai, where other COP28 activities will be held, Molecule is bringing his album -22.7°C live on stage. What’s that, you ask? For his latest album, Molecule — along with his home studio featuring keyboards, synthesisers, drum machines and microphones — he travelled to Greenland to compose music that was as close to the polar nature as possible. He journeyed for three days to reach the point he needed to create this composition. Using high-end mics to capture the sonic atmosphere’s sounds, Molecule created an album and named it after the lowest temperature recorded during his trip.

It’s this album — 22.7°C — that’s being transformed into a live show for COP28 in Dubai on 27 October. The show is an innovative approach to addressing climate change using the power of music and will be held at Expo City Dubai’s Al Wasl Plaza Stage. Entry to the event is free and open for all ages.

As part of COP28, many other activities will be held to create more awareness among the masses about climate change. The event will also feature Blue and Green Zones, where panel discussions, roundtables and group activities will take place. These platforms will promote dialogue on climate change and encourage visitors to participate in making the world a better place to live for the generations that are yet to come.
