Art lovers, there’s a new date for your Dubai diary. Alserkal Art Week returns from 15 to 22 November 2026, filling Alserkal Avenue with exhibitions and conversations. Leading the programme is an exhibition at Concrete celebrating women modernists from the Arab world.

Taking “Smouldering” as its theme, this edition considers the creative energy that persists through periods of upheaval. Resilience and the potential for renewal connect a programme spanning 20th-century art, contemporary gallery shows and discussions about culture’s role in everyday life.

Alserkal Art Week

Curated by Suheyla Takesh and Rémi Homs, the Concrete exhibition draws on Barjeel Art Foundation’s collection, with works by Fahrelnissa Zeid, Samia Halaby, Inji Aflatoun and Etel Adnan. These artists responded to decolonisation, urban growth, political change and shifting gender roles, while experimenting with local materials and techniques.

Beyond Concrete, visitors can explore 17 new exhibitions across the Avenue’s contemporary art galleries. Egyptian artist and Alexandria Biennial curator Moataz Nasr will curate Majlis Talks, titled Sharing the Sensitive. Taking place in The Yard on the afternoon of Sunday, 15 November 2026, the round-table conversation features Simon Njami, Julie Banatre and Jenny Mbaye alongside Nasr, exploring art, resistance, memory and community beyond dominant Western perspectives.

Guest projects include Promises and Scars, a presentation of work by the late Palestinian artist Sliman Mansour spanning the 1970s to the 2020s. Presented by George Al Ama and Fann À Porter, the exhibition runs at Warehouse 46 until 22 November 2026.

Elsewhere, The Temple Manuscripts – Selected Works by Russell Watson marks Barbados’ 60th anniversary of independence. Presented by the Barbados Museum in partnership with the Embassy of Barbados in the UAE, it is hosted by Alserkal Arts Foundation. The Art Circle Award’s shortlisted artists will also show work at Warehouse 50B from 11 to 22 November 2026.

The Chanel Culture Fund will take over The Yard’s screens from 9 to 29 November 2026 with Fracture: The Window. The moving image programme explores identity, memory and experience through digital formats, offering another reason to linger in the Avenue’s outdoor spaces.

The closing weekend, on 21 and 22 November 2026, adds Cinema Akil film screenings, slow art walks and gallery tours for children. And when you need a break from painting the town, spend those dirhams at the local favourites like LILA Molino, Middle Child, NALA, Piehaus and the FACT award-winning bkry.
