The citywide initiative highlights Haq Al Leila, Ramadan and Eid through 50 programmes across 30 locations.
Dubai has launched the Season of Wulfa, a new initiative designed to spotlight Emirati culture and the occasions that shape life in the UAE. Following the Hijri calendar, the season shifts each year in line with key cultural moments. In 2026, Haq Al Leila is expected to fall on 2 or 3 February, while Ramadan and Eid dates will be confirmed through moon sightings.
Spanning 30 locations across the emirate, the Season of Wulfa rolls out 50 initiatives, created in collaboration with government stakeholders and private-sector partners. Overseen by Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed, the programme is anchored around three major dates in the Islamic calendar: Haq Al Leila, Ramadan and Eid. While each occasion has its own customs and meaning, the initiative connects them through shared themes of community, gratitude and renewal.
In a social media post announcing the launch, Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed said: “Today, we launched the Season of Wulfa in Dubai, an initiative that celebrates the spirit of Emirati culture and occasions. The Season of Wulfa strengthens family and social bonds, spreads warmth across Dubai’s neighbourhoods, and brings to life the emirate’s authenticity, generosity, and rich cultural fabric.”
At the heart of the season is a framework titled The Spirit of the Season, which sets out how Wulfa will be brought to life across the city. Built around experience principles and visual inspiration, it offers guidance on how the initiative should feel, look and unfold, shaping everything from the atmosphere of an activation to the way stories are told.
Across the season, residents and visitors can expect a varied calendar of experiences celebrating UAE heritage and contemporary culture, from musical moments and family-friendly gatherings to food-led activations, fashion, and community events. The aim is simple: to create welcoming spaces where people can come together, reconnect, and take part in traditions that reflect the UAE’s social fabric.
