A Hollywood icon steps into the literary spotlight.

Will Smith will take to the main stage at the Sharjah International Book Fair on 14 November. The Oscar-winning actor and best-selling author will reflect on his craft and career, sharing thoughts on self-discovery and the power of narrative. Expect a candid conversation that traces his path from breakout television star to global box-office draw, and now to an author whose work resonates with readers of all ages.

At the Sharjah International Book Fair, Smith will speak about his best-selling memoir, “Will.” The book charts his upbringing in Philadelphia, his early years in entertainment, personal challenges and the discipline that shaped his success. He will also discuss “Just the Two of Us,” his book for younger readers that explores the bond between parent and child. Together, the titles offer a window into the mindset of a performer who has spent decades in the public eye while continuing to evolve as a storyteller.

Smith first rose to fame in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, a series that introduced his charisma to audiences worldwide. He went on to headline major films including Ali, Bad Boys, Men in Black and Suicide Squad. In 2022, he won the Academy Award for his performance in King Richard. That same ceremony made headlines after he slapped presenter Chris Rock. The conversation at SIBF is positioned to look beyond the headlines and focus on craft, accountability and personal growth.

This appearance marks a return to a region he knows well. Will Smith has visited the region many times, often sharing his adventures in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Now he brings his story to Sharjah, joining a global roster of authors and thinkers at one of the world’s largest book fairs.

The Sharjah International Book Fair runs from 5 to 16 November at Expo Centre Sharjah, organised by the Sharjah Book Authority. If you are planning a visit, make sure Will Smith’s main-stage session is on your list.
