Wynn Al Marjan Island has announced a partnership with Punchdrunk, bringing a new immersive stage production to Ras Al Khaimah in 2027.

Wynn Al Marjan Island has revealed the first details of its upcoming live show, and it is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious productions ever staged in the region.

Opening in Ras Al Khaimah in 2027, Wynn Al Marjan Island has announced a partnership with Punchdrunk, the acclaimed immersive theatre company behind Sleep No More. The original production will mark Punchdrunk’s first show in the MENA region and has been created exclusively for the resort.

Inspired by the spirit of a classic Las Vegas revue, the production will combine song, dance and theatrical spectacle. When booking, guests can choose between a seated performance upstairs or a roaming immersive journey downstairs and backstage. The latter will take audiences behind the curtain, revealing a hidden world that forms part of the wider narrative.

The announcement builds on Wynn’s established entertainment legacy in Las Vegas, where the resort currently presents Awakening at Wynn Las Vegas. Staged at the dedicated Awakening Theater, the show blends fantasy, music, choreography, puppetry and visual effects, continuing Wynn’s tradition of creating resort entertainment on a large scale.

At Wynn Al Marjan Island, the new theatre has been designed as a modern interpretation of a classic performance venue. Drawing on Art Deco influences, the space will feature rich fabrics, sculpted drapery and grand architectural details. The design will evoke Hollywood’s golden era and the glamour of 1970s Las Vegas, while every part of the venue, from the lobby and aisles to the restrooms and elevators, will contribute to the experience.

The new stage production will be conceived and directed by Punchdrunk’s Artistic Director and Founder, Felix Barrett MBE, in collaboration with Craig S. Billings, CEO of Wynn Resorts. Rather than presenting a traditional show in one fixed format, the experience will offer guests two ways to follow the same unfolding story.

Founded in 2000 by Felix Barrett MBE, Punchdrunk is widely recognised for changing the way audiences interact with live performance. Its signature mask productions allow viewers to move freely through highly detailed worlds, creating personal routes through layered stories. The company’s credits include The Drowned Man: A Hollywood Fable and Sleep No More, which ran for 14 years in New York with more than 5,000 performances. The production continues in Seoul, while its Shanghai run concludes this August after a decade-long engagement. Sleep No More will also launch in Shenzhen next year.

Felix Barrett MBE, Artistic Director & Founder, Punchdrunk, said: “I’m thrilled that Punchdrunk is partnering with Craig S. Billings and his brilliant team at Wynn Resorts to create a brand-new show for the extraordinary new theater at Wynn Al Marjan Island. We hope the production will deliver a spectacular theatrical experience, both for audiences seeking world-class entertainment and for those in search of something truly unexpected.”
