The Norwegian DJ behind “Faded”, “Alone” and “On My Way” will headline FREQUENCY 971 alongside DJ Bliss and DJ Slim.

The UAE’s summer concert calendar is turning up the volume. Global electronic music star Alan Walker is heading to Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai for FREQUENCY 971 on Saturday, 22 August 2026. The Norwegian DJ and producer will headline the electronic music event, with UAE favourites DJ Bliss and DJ Slim also joining the line-up.

Raised in Bergen, Norway, Alan Walker developed an interest in computers, programming and graphic design before teaching himself music production through online tutorials. He began uploading music to YouTube and SoundCloud, eventually attracting attention with the instrumental track “Fade”.

That track would become the foundation for his global breakthrough. Reworked with vocals from Iselin Solheim and released as “Faded” in 2015, the single became an international phenomenon. Its haunting melody and melancholic electronic production established the sound that would become Walker’s calling card. More than a decade later, the track has accumulated more than two billion Spotify streams and billions of YouTube views.

Walker quickly built a catalogue capable of sustaining a global career. “Sing Me to Sleep” followed in 2016, before “Alone” became another of his defining anthems. Tracks including “The Spectre”, “Darkside” with Au/Ra and Tomine Harket, and “All Falls Down” with Noah Cyrus and Digital Farm Animals helped further establish his melodic approach to EDM.

Collaborations have also played a significant role in Walker’s success. “On My Way” brought together Sabrina Carpenter and Farruko, while “Alone, Pt. II” featured Ava Max. One of his most notable collaborations came outside conventional pop music when legendary composer Hans Zimmer invited Walker to remix “Time”, the celebrated piece from Christopher Nolan’s Inception. Walker has also produced official remixes for artists including Coldplay, Bruno Mars, Miley Cyrus, Sia and Avicii.

The hooded jacket and face covering that became synonymous with Walker helped create an anonymous digital identity designed around the idea that anyone could be behind the mask. That aesthetic developed into the wider World of Walker, connecting music videos, gaming, storytelling and fan communities. His Walkerworld project took that concept further, combining new releases with touring, gaming and an interconnected visual universe. The era continued with Walkerworld 2.0 in 2025, reinforcing Walker’s position as an electronic artist whose influence stretches considerably beyond the DJ booth.
