The celebrated Egyptian American satirist returns to Dubai.
Comedian Bassem Youssef is making a special stop in Dubai this autumn, bringing his acclaimed solo show to Coca-Cola Arena on 16 November. It marks a welcome return for the comedian who first lit up the city’s stages during the early years of his meteoric rise. Expect sharp observations, smart storytelling and a night that blends laughter with reflection.
Youssef’s journey remains one of the most compelling in contemporary comedy. Trained as a heart surgeon in Cairo, he pivoted during the Arab Spring and went on to host Al Bernameg, the Middle East’s first political satire show. What began as a five-minute YouTube upload became the region’s first online-to-TV crossover and its most-watched programme, drawing 30 million weekly viewers and more than a million YouTube subscribers. International media dubbed him “The Egyptian Jon Stewart,” but interrogations and arrest forced a move to the United States, where he built a global career across stand-up and screen.
In October 2023, his interview with Piers Morgan earned worldwide attention. It became the most viewed conversation in the history of Piers Morgan Uncensored, underscoring his reach as a sharp satirist and cultural commentator.
In Bassem Youssef Live, audiences can expect material that explores fatherhood, fame and identity, delivered with charisma, candour and a precise comedic rhythm.
“Dubai has always been a city close to my heart – a place where cultures, ideas, and people from all over the world come together,” shares Bassem. “I am so excited to bring this show to the UAE and to share stories that I hope will resonate in a city that thrives on diversity and connection.”
