An Al Baik drive-through is opening in Dubai

Dig into the queue-worthy dishes in Al Rashidiya.

Did you think Saudi’s biggest export was oil? Think again. It may well be Al Baik, the much-loved homegrown fast-food chain, which garnered queues around the block when it was launched in Dubai. Now, Al Baik is opening its first-ever drive-through in Dubai, and here’s how to not get FOMO. 

The new Al Baik drive-through will be located in Al Rashidiya, the eighth location in the UAE. The brand made its debut in Dubai Mall in June 2021, and was an instant hit in the city. Plus, it became one of the most popular restaurants at Dubai Expo 2020.

So far, we know that the Al Baik drive-through will feature a limited menu, and that there will be an emphasis on much-loved items. The popular items include the chicken nugget meal, chicken fillet sandwich and double chicken burger. 

The Al Baik drive-through has a soft opening taking place this week, and the official opening is on 20 April. If you want to avoid the queues, you can order on the Al Baik app in advance. 

Al Baik was created in Saudi Arabia in 1974. Shakour Abu Ghazalah was determined to create affordable, high-quality food. The first restaurant opened on Old Airport Road in Jeddah. The famous chicken has an 18-spice secret recipe, which was first developed in 1984. Seafood was included on the menu in 1995. Today, the brand has expanded in the region, from Bahrain to Qatar.
