FACT First Look: Amuni Restaurant & Lounge in Jumeirah Emirates Towers

The all-star team includes chef Alessandro Miceli and bar director Jimmy Barrat.

Dubai’s dining and nightlife stars have united to create a new homegrown concept. Amuni Restaurant & Lounge is opening in Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel in November and offers the taste of the Riviera with views of the Arabian Gulf. The concept has been created by Mario Lahoud, CEO of Cinto Hospitality, and brings together chef Alessandro Miceli and bar pioneer Jimmy Barrat. Here’s FACT’s first look inside Amuni.

Spanning the 50th and 51st floors in the Financial District, Amuni is a sophisticated spot for dinner, and Cueva is a speakeasy spot for drinks. In Sicilian, Amuni means to “let’s go” and reflects how the creators want guests to unwind at this relaxed yet refined venue. In Spanish, Cueva means cave and reflects how the bar is designed like a private den.

Amuni Dubai

On the 50th floor, Amuni restaurant boasts floor-to-ceiling windows with Insta-worthy views. The minimalist décor includes white tablecloths and dark chairs as well as banquettes, which are punctuated by gorgeous greenery.

Amuni gives traditional dishes a modern twist. The team draws inspiration from Marbella, Porto Fino and Saint-Tropez, and showcase seasonal ingredients. Chef Alessandro is behind the menu, which includes fresh fish, market vegetables, premium meats and seasonal salads. Plus, Gillardeau oyster platters and Montanara pizzas, and wood-fired grilled whole fish, lobsters and Tomahawk steak.

Alessandro is an award-winning Italian chef. He previously worked in Dubai’s Le Royal Méridien Beach Resort & Spa, BiCE and Roberto’s, and he opened his own restaurant Bella. He explained: “At Amuni, the team will serve a rustic, sunny, ingredient-driven menu, with a great many produce cultivated with care at the Amuni Country House and Farm in Sicily, guaranteeing the freshest seasonal flavours in every plate. We are also broadening the terroir with handpicked finds from the markets of coastal Spain and France.”

Jimmy was previously the global bar development director of Zuma. After spending fifteen years with the group, he ventured out on his own and launched Ergo in The Dubai EDITION. Now, he has curated Cueva’s menu with Mediterranean-inspired drinks, which include the Americano, Carbonated Negroni, Hugo and Spritz. Plus, guests can dig into snacks or chill out to the deep lounge DJ sets.

From its twinkling views to superstar talent, a starry night awaits at Amuni in Dubai.
