Food and football collide at this new British brasserie

The Coterie features two distinct concepts, Coterie Social and Coterie Kitchen.

Food and football will always be a match made in heaven, no pun intended. And now, a new venue by the name of The Coterie is catering to all those in agreement. Located in Ibn Battuta, the new restaurant and sports bar features two distinct concepts, Coterie Social and Coterie Kitchen, pairing British cuisine with first-class sporting entertainment. Here’s what we know so far.

Coterie Social

Coterie Social unites people who possess a passion for sport — from football and cricket to rugby and horse racing. The British brasserie is both contemporary and stylish, overlooking the green of Precision Football’s FIFA-standard pitches and housing a well-stocked island bar. British-inspired food and quality drinks aside, guests can look forward to a whopping 19 high-definition screens, with the largest in the city standing at 5.4-metres. They’re ready to showcase all major sporting events and even designed to give fans a perfect view from every angle, as well as the opportunity to watch several fixtures simultaneously.

Whether looking for a match-night meal or a personal reward after a session at Precision Football, the new concept is set to redefine the sporting experience. Executive Chef Tony Jardella and Head Chef Damian Lobjoie have outlined their vision for the restaurant through a creative menu that celebrates quintessential British favourites and offers no compromises on quality. From a classic Fish and Chips, a Steak and Stout Pie, or an imperious Roast Dinner – served all weekend – the Coterie Social menu reads like a roll call of dishes that pair perfectly with live sporting action.

Coterie Social’s eclectic drinks menu, meanwhile, takes inspiration from famous British characters like Paddington’s Marmalade Sandwich (with its unique and comforting tang of marmalade on toast) and The Daily Express-o (an alternate way of drinking coffee while reading the newspaper). An extensive selection of on-tap and bottle options are also on offer.

Coterie Kitchen

Coterie Kitchen is an artisanal, homely venue serving varied and nutritious cuisine that feeds both body and soul; the menu focuses on fresh, seasonal ingredients to ensure quality and taste in every bite. Wholesome breakfasts and leisurely lunches are served within the modern interiors of grey marble, bronze, brass and burnt-orange hues. 

Spacious both inside and out on the terrace, the venue promises to be the perfect spot for families to watch their kids train downstairs at Precision Football’s elite facility, as well as for fans of healthier dining options. Here, breakfast classics include Açaí Bowls, Avocado on Toast, and Eggs Benedict, as well as more elaborate dishes like truffle soldiers — soft boiled eggs served with triple Gruyère and Cheddar toasts. The lunch menu tempts with gourmet sandwiches and wraps, stone-baked flatbreads, and hearty salads and bowls alongside signature dishes such as the Coterie Hot Potato.
