From football to food: Ronaldo’s TATEL restaurant is opening in Dubai

The restaurant can already be found in Doha and Riyadh. 

Legendary footballer Cristiano Ronaldo is making himself at home in the Middle East. Not only is he playing for Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr FC, but he and fellow sports star, Rafael Nadal, are behind the restaurant Tatel, which can be found in Doha and Riyadh. Now, the Spanish restaurant is making its way to Dubai, and scheduled to open this year. 

TATEL is heading to Hotel Boulevard, Autograph Collection in Downtown Dubai. The restaurant brand is famous for serving Spanish haute cuisine. The concept draws its inspiration from America’s prohibition era in the 1920s. In 2015, the first branch opened in Madrid, and it can be found around the world in Beverly Hills, Mexico City and Valencia. Plus, the Riyadh branch is a FACT Dining Award winner.

TATEL in Dubai will be a sophisticated space with candles lining the entrance, shades of brown, green and maroon, and live entertainment. The food menu will draw from local ingredients. If previous menus are anything to go by, expect starters, salads, rice, pasta, fish, meat and chicken dishes. 

Here’s hoping that TATEL in Dubai’s desserts include the signature Tatel World Famous Cheesecake, which is one of the best cheesecakes we’ve ever had. The cheesecake combines a fluffy texture and gooey filling. Plus, the drinks menu will include carefully crafted cocktails, and a selection of spirits and wines that pair well with the plates.
