The drinks and desserts are inspired by the magical movies.

Japan’s animation company, Studio Ghibli, has made a name for itself around the world. Now, a Studio Ghibli pop-up will open at Inner Child in Al Khawaneej, Dubai. If you’re a fan of the directors Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata’s work, then here’s how to join the fun.

Inner Child is a charming bakery, away from the hustle and bustle of Dubai. Throughout the summer, it will be running a Studio Ghibli pop-up. The space includes coffee and cakes, which are inspired by the characters. We spotted Insta-friendly drinks and desserts with cute eyes on them.

Inner Child’s menu includes freshly baked goods, from cakes to pastries. The croissant menu sees the pastry served with different toppings. The options include Margarita and Spicy Honey Pepperoni. The cookie menu offers cookies in a range of flavours. The options include Kinder Cookies, Nutella Cookies, and Peanut Butter Cookies. Plus, drinks include Americano, Espresso, Hot Chocolate, Hot Matcha, and Latte.

Studio Ghibli is based in Toganei, Tokyo. Japanese director Hayao Miyazaki is behind many of the films, which have met with critical and commercial success. The films include Howl’s Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away and The Boy and the Heron.

Spirited Away follows a child named Chihiro Maki who finds an abandoned tower and enters a fantastical world with a heron. Howl’s Moving Castle tells the story of a fictional kingdom where a witch puts a spell on the young girl, and she then turns into an elderly woman. The Boy and the Heron follows a boy named Mahito Maki during World War II.

The Inner Child and Studio Ghibli pop-up is located in a villa in Dubai and is open daily from 4pm to 10pm.
