MICHELIN-starred Jamavar is opening in Downtown Dubai

The Indian fine dining restaurant will open this winter.

With locations in Bengaluru, Chennai, Doha, London, New Delhi and Mumbai, it was only a matter of time before the Indian fine dining restaurant Jamavar opened its doors in Dubai.

Taking its name from the intricate 16th-century lace shawls of Kashmir, Jamavar is known for its luxurious pan-Indian cuisine. Drawing from more than 22 years of experience, Culinary Director Surender Mohan’s vibrant pan-Indian flavours use only the finest ingredients, ensuring the aromatic curries and grills offer a harmonious blend of spice and texture. The Jamavar menu pays homage to the subcontinent, showcasing dishes from the royal kitchens, such as Kid Goat Shami Kebab, Prawns Peera, Leela’s Lobster Neeruli and Rhubarb Chuski Falooda. Feeling less adventurous? Classic dishes such as Old Delhi Butter Chicken and Dum Nalli Biryani, which have proved popular in London, are also expected to appear on the Dubai menu.

The London branch received a coveted MICHELIN star in 2022, with the MICHELIN Guide London declaring, “This smartly dressed restaurant is a firm favourite with those who love Indian food. The menu looks to all parts of India, with a slight bias towards the north, and also showcases dishes that would have featured in royal kitchens.”

Jamavar in Dubai is expected to open this winter in Downtown Dubai, joining the likes of Asador de Aranda, CZN Burak, Em Sherif Cafe, Jun’s Dubai and Ting Irie in the popular dining enclave.

If Jamavar’s worldwide locations are anything to go by, we expect Jamavar in Dubai to feature a regal dining room complete with ornate tiling and palatial textiles. An terrace decked out in alphonso mango looks set to rival it’s Mayfair counterpart.

LSL Capital, the team behind the popular London restaurants Bombay Bustle, KOYN, MiMi Mei Fair, Socca and Jamavar London, will open Jamavar in Dubai.

“I am incredibly passionate about what I do. My fondest memories have been around the dining table and my endeavour is to bring those joys forward by way of my collection of restaurants for others to enjoy, embrace and experience” said Samyukta Nair, co-founder of LSL Capital.

Known for its refined ambience, strong service, and colourful cuisine, we cannot wait for Jamavar’s debut in Dubai.
