Moonrise is now officially licensed

A new grape pairing is available at Chef Soleman Haddad’s award-winning eatery.

With its seasonal menu constantly evolving to highlight ingredients and techniques from Japanese, Middle Eastern, and European cuisines, it came as no surprise when Moonrise was recognised as Best Fusion Restaurant at the FACT Dining Awards Dubai 2022. Now, Chef Solemann Haddad’s omakase concept on the rooftop of Eden House is further enhancing its culinary offerings to include licensed beverages — its new grape pairing is priced AED 650 per diner and was developed in consultation with Lindsay Trivers of Dubai’s The Tasting Class.

An extended grape list is also available to be ordered, including an extensive by-the-glass Coravin selection, with a focus on Middle Eastern labels. The pairing, meanwhile, features eight carefully curated selections with a spotlight on new-world wines. Diners will enjoy wines from Syria, New Zealand, Greece and the USA, making this grape pairing truly unique in the Dubai market.

Diners who select the new grape pairing will commence their journey with Champagne to complement favourites such as ‘Explosion’ (pani puri with foie gras puri, date syrup, saffron & pineapple chutney, autumn truffle) and ‘Grilled Cheese’, while the signature ‘Trip to Masafi’ (charred madai, sweet corn, dill, brown butter and bzar) plays off against the freshness and minerality of Thalassitis Assyrtiko by Gaia from Santorini, Greece.

The powerful umami tastes of ‘90’s Garlic Bread’ (18-month-old charcoal khubz, confit garlic & brown miso mornay, 32-month aged comte) meet their match in Domaine de Bargylus Grand Vin de Syrie Blanc, hailing from Syria, with the estate’s Grand Vin de Syrie Rouge providing the perfect foil for the luxurious koji-fermented Jordanian A5 Wagyu of ‘Khoory Kabab’.

Guests who prefer 0% ABV options can choose to complement their menu with a pairing that includes delicately balanced zero-proof cocktails such as the Vanilla & Shiso Tonic and Pomegranate Yuzu Sour alongside teas from local tea partner, Haiyatea. The pairing is available for AED 150 per diner. Moonrise offers two seatings nightly for 12 diners per seating, at 6:30pm and 9:30pm, Monday through Saturday.
