Ossiano is recognised by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants

The fine dining institution has joined the extended line-up announced for 2023.

Between its underwater setting, multifaceted menu, theatrical plating, and world-class culinary collaborations, there’s never a dull moment at Ossiano. And that’s why it came as no surprise when the seafood restaurant at Atlantis, The Palm was one of only nine venues in Dubai to receive – and then retain – a MICHELIN star.

Now, Ossiano is enjoying further acclaim, taking the No. 87 spot on the extended The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list — this marks the restaurant’s first time entering the global list. The 51-100 ranking was announced in anticipation of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023 ceremony, which will be held in Spain later this month.

Ossiano

For the uninitiated, Ossiano is helmed by Grégoire Berger, one of the most innovative chefs in the region. The youngest and only chef in the country to be featured in the top 100 in the Best Chef Awards for five consecutive years, Berger has set himself apart in Dubai’s dynamic dining scene by taking a progressive approach to seasonal cooking.

Chef Berger commented, “We are incredibly honoured to be included in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023 extended list. To be considered as one of the top 100 dining experiences in the world and to be amongst so many amazing professionals is such a fantastic achievement and showcases the team’s relentless hard work. At Ossiano, the entire staff – from the kitchen to the restaurant floor – always strive to serve an extraordinary experience, and we look forward to continuing to raise the bar to drive Ossiano forward as a truly unique culinary destination.”

The unveiled 51-100 list is a culinary map, tracing the path of notable destinations across five continents. This compilation springs from the collective opinion of 1,080 independent culinary experts, including renowned international chefs, food journalists and discerning gastronomes. Incidentally, this latest announcement marks another milestone for Ossiano in 2023; the restaurant was ranked No. 4 and the highest new entry in the 2023 Middle East and Africa’s 50 Best Restaurants list. It was also awarded Restaurant of The Year at the FACT Dining Awards Dubai 2022.
