The London favourite, known for Champagne, theatrical pastries and its cult cheesecake, is set to make its Dubai debut at DIFC Square.

Dubai’s dining scene is about to get a little sweeter. Cake & Bubbles, the London concept created by celebrated Spanish chef Albert Adrià, is heading to DIFC Square, adding a polished patisserie and Champagne bar to one of the city’s most talked-about new developments. According to the Dubai Government Media Office, Cake & Bubbles Dubai is among the names set to open at DIFC Square, alongside Duck & Rice, Hudson & Rye, Liban and Saddle.

For those unfamiliar with the name, Cake & Bubbles first made its mark at Hotel Café Royal on Regent Street in London, where it built a following for pairing elegant desserts with an extensive Champagne and sparkling wine list. Described as a “parade of exceptional desserts and pastries from Albert Adrià, served alongside more than 50 Champagnes and fine sparkling wines,” it is a formula that feels indulgent yet precise, and one that has helped the venue carve out a distinctive identity in London.

The brand’s legacy is just as compelling as its menu. Adrià is one of the most influential figures in modern gastronomy, having started at El Bulli at just 16 before developing a career that moved from pastry into some of Spain’s most acclaimed restaurant projects. He won the World’s Best Pastry Chef award in 2015, while more recently, Enigma in Barcelona earned a second Michelin star in 2025, underlining the chef’s continued relevance on the global stage.

As for what to expect on the plate, Cake & Bubbles in Dubai will offer out-of-the-ordinary desserts. Signature items on the current London menu include The “Cheese Cake” to Share, made with Baron Bigod cheese, hazelnut and white chocolate, as well as the Classic Basque Burnt Cheesecake with a burnt finish and a creamy, almost flan-like texture. Other standouts include the Cakes & Bubbles Corks, Matcha & Yuzu Slice, Passion Golden Egg and After Eight.

DIFC Square has been handed over ahead of schedule and brings 600,000 square feet of office space to the district, with retail and dining outlets helping to shape it into more than just a business address.
