A new weekend pop-up brings Hong Kong baked favourites and creative bagel sandwiches to the FACT award-winning Jun’s.
Chef Kelvin Cheung is launching 852 Bakery, specifically crafted for Dubai, this October. The new spot will arrive as a weekend pop-up, open every Friday to Sunday from 12pm to 6pm at Jun’s on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard. The concept brings a fresh, contemporary lens to the city’s bakery scene while staying rooted in the flavours that inspire the chef.
Known for the FACT award-winning Jun’s, Little Jun’s, and Jooksing, Chef Kelvin turns his attention to comfort classics with thoughtful twists. The menu leans into Hong Kong nostalgia and modern snacking. Expect bagel sandwiches that are playful in name and serious in flavour, including the Egg Sheeran with a spiced masala omelette, and the Char Surprise featuring barbecue short rib. There is also a gluten-free Jambon et Fromage for those seeking a lighter option without compromising on taste.
Fans of Hong Kong-style bakeries will recognise signatures such as the Classic Pineapple Bun and a soft, sticky Classic Cinnamon Roll. Drinks follow the same East-meets-West spirit with Hong Kong milk tea, matcha-based beverages, and hojicha lattes, each designed to pair with the bakes coming fresh from the oven.
The name 852 Bakery carries a personal story for Chef Kelvin. The number eight is a nod to prosperity and good fortune, the five points to the senses he aims to engage with every dish, and the two reflects the dual heritage of his cooking, balancing traditional Chinese roots with a modern and global outlook. His international upbringing informs the menu, blending the flavours of home with the ingredients and ideas of his current city.
852 Bakery joins the growing portfolio of Three Layer Hospitality, founded by entrepreneur Neha Anand. With familiar flavours presented through a refined yet approachable filter, 852 Bakery feels designed for regular drop ins and weekend rituals.
