The upcoming concept will combine seasonal Japanese cuisine, fire-led cooking and immersive storytelling.
Dubai’s appetite for Japanese dining continues to grow. From sleek sushi counters to intimate chef’s table experiences, omakase has become one of the city’s most sought-after restaurant formats. Now, a new name is preparing to enter the scene: OmeBAB.
The upcoming Japanese omakase experience is set to launch in Dubai, bringing together seasonal ingredients, chef-led storytelling and a theatrical approach to dining. While the opening date and location have not yet been revealed, the mystery surrounding the concept is already adding to its appeal.
OmeBAB is being positioned as a bold new take on omakase, one that goes beyond the traditional format of a chef-curated tasting menu. Instead, the restaurant will lean into atmosphere, ritual and sensory detail, creating a dining journey that unfolds course by course.
Although the full menu remains under wraps, early details suggest a strong focus on Japanese technique, seasonal produce and fire-driven cooking. The experience will place the chef at the centre of the action, with intimate seating, carefully curated dishes and a sense of theatre running throughout the meal.
Fire and spice appear to be key elements of the concept, pointing to a more expressive interpretation of Japanese flavours. Rather than simply serving sushi and sashimi, OmeBAB looks set to explore the wider world of Japanese cuisine through texture, temperature and presentation.
The concept has been developed by CLE Innovation Lab, part of CLE & Partners. The hospitality group is building a growing portfolio of experience-led venues in Dubai, with projects that place equal importance on food, design and storytelling. Hospitality executive Yigit Sezgin is also involved through CLE & Partners, bringing industry experience and strategic direction to the launch.
OmeBAB joins a wider pipeline of concepts from CLE & Partners, including BeatBAB, Nomakai and Bottega di Valleria. Together, the venues point to a broader shift in Dubai’s dining scene, where restaurants are becoming more immersive, more narrative-led and more closely connected to lifestyle and culture.
With its focus on Japanese omakase, fire-led cooking and immersive dining, OmeBAB is shaping up to be one of Dubai’s most intriguing new restaurant openings. Once launched, it will add another layer to the city’s ever-evolving Japanese dining landscape.
