The intimate 28-seat restaurant brings Japanese ramen culture to Downtown Dubai
TakaHisa is expanding its presence in Dubai with the opening of Ramen Hisa, a new ramen restaurant at Dubai Opera in Downtown Dubai. Opening on 7 May 2026, the intimate concept is dedicated to one of Japan’s most beloved dishes.
Located at Dubai Opera, Ramen Hisa brings a slower, more contemplative approach to ramen. Here, the focus is placed on broth, noodles and toppings, with each component selected and prepared to work in balance. Rather than relying on heavy flavours or excess, the restaurant places emphasis on aroma, temperature, texture and aftertaste, allowing each bowl to unfold gradually.

Ingredients are sourced from across Japan, with close attention paid to origin and quality. The noodles vary depending on the style of ramen, with both house-made noodles and egg noodles used where appropriate. The house-made noodles are crafted from aromatic wheat flour, offering depth of flavour, soft elasticity and a smooth finish. Egg noodles are chosen when they best enhance the richness, aroma and final taste of the dish.
The dashi and soup are prepared using selected ingredients designed to deliver clarity and depth. For seafood ramen, Ramen Hisa uses premium bluefin tuna sourced from Yamayuki, one of Japan’s most respected tuna wholesalers. The result is a bowl with a clean, oceanic character. For beef ramen, Wagyu, Kobe Beef and Ozaki Beef are carefully selected and prepared to highlight the balance between delicate fat and deep flavour.

The restaurant’s design also plays a key role in the experience. Inspired by a traditional Japanese home, guests are invited to remove their shoes before entering a serene dining room with tatami flooring and floor chairs. With only 28 seats, Ramen Hisa has been created as a quiet hideaway in the centre of Downtown Dubai, encouraging diners to slow down and focus on the meal in front of them.
The new restaurant comes from the team behind TakaHisa, which has built its legacy on immaculate omakase, exceptional seafood and A5 Wagyu handled with deep technical precision. Led by Wagyu Master Chef Hisao Ueda and Sushi Master Chef Takashi Namekata, TakaHisa has earned recognition as Best Japanese Fine Dining restaurant at the FACT Dining Awards Dubai in 2024 and 2025.
