Backed by the team behind FACT award-winning Takahisa, Taiga is set to light up Bluewaters Dubai.
Dubai’s appetite for Japanese dining shows no sign of slowing down. From omakase counters to robata-led restaurants, the city has embraced the cuisine in all its forms. Now, a new concept is preparing to join the mix, and it arrives with serious pedigree. Taiga, the latest venture from the team behind FACT award-winning TakaHisa, is set to open at Bluewaters Dubai.
Positioned as Dubai’s first traditional teppanyaki restaurant, Taiga aims to deliver a dining experience that combines culinary precision with performance. At its core is the teppanyaki counter, where chefs prepare each dish in full view of guests, turning dinner into something immersive and indulgent. Flames, technique and timing are all part of the appeal, but the concept also places a strong emphasis on ingredient quality and refined execution.

Inside, the restaurant has been designed to feel intimate and atmospheric. Rich brown tones set the mood, while focused lighting draws attention to the teppanyaki counter, ensuring that the action remains centre stage throughout the meal. Elsewhere, the interiors are finished in a sleek mix of black, white and natural wood, with gold accents adding a subtle touch of glamour. For those seeking a more exclusive experience, private dining rooms will also be available.
The menu is expected to centre on a signature teppanyaki omakase, allowing guests to experience a selection of dishes prepared directly in front of them. It is a format that suits Taiga’s theatrical spirit, but the ingredients are just as much a talking point as the presentation. Seafood will be flown in from Tokyo’s Toyosu Market five times a week, while the meat offering will showcase A5 Wagyu, including Kobe, Matsusaka and Ozaki beef.

These premium ingredients will be featured across a menu that also includes dishes such as sukiyaki and shabu-shabu, offering a broader expression of Japanese dining beyond the teppanyaki counter. While full details are still to come, Taiga already looks set to appeal to diners who appreciate craftsmanship, exclusivity and top-tier produce.
With Bluewaters Dubai continuing to strengthen its dining credentials, Taiga could prove to be one of the destination’s most compelling new openings. Backed by an acclaimed hospitality group and built around one of Japan’s most captivating culinary traditions, it is a restaurant that already feels destined to make an impression.
