Expect Cantonese and Sichuan flavours against panoramic views of Downtown Dubai.
Dubai’s dining scene gains fresh momentum with the arrival of Yu & Mi at the soon-to-open Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai. Perched on the 36th floor, guests enter through a discreet doorway and emerge into a world that nods to 1960s Hong Kong.
Plush red seating anchors the room, eclectic artwork adds character, and glowing script creates a soft halo of light. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the skyline, while warm brick walls and ambient lighting set an intimate tone.
Yu & Mi is built on contrast, and that duality shapes the journey. Yu, meaning jade, is a lively bar where cocktails take centre stage. The list leans into teas, spices and botanicals, creating infusions that feel both classic and new. Across the threshold sits Mi, meaning secret, a dining room that celebrates the bold flavours of Cantonese and Sichuan cooking. Together, the two settings flow from aperitif to after hours, giving Dubai a destination that blends elevated dining with a sense of occasion.

The menu draws inspiration from Hong Kong’s golden era and reworks tradition with a modern touch. Details remain under wraps, yet the kitchen promises rich sauces, bright heat and a hint of theatre at the table. Familiar names will appear in refined form, including Kung Pao Chicken and Dan Dan Noodles, alongside seasonal plates that reward repeat visits. The aim is balance: depth of flavour without heaviness, precision without formality, and service that keeps the pace of an evening in the city.
Aside from Yu & Mi, Mandarin Oriental Downtown Dubai promises a series of diverse dining venues. Chitarra will serve authentic Italian cuisine, featuring dishes such as homemade pasta and other classics. Osaka Nikkei brings its acclaimed flavours from Lima to Dubai, and Billionaire Dubai will be located on the rooftop.
With a prime location, dramatic views and a concept that mixes elegance with art, Yu & Mi is expected to open in October.
