Dubai Fitness Challenge is preparing to celebrate a decade of movement. Returning from Saturday, 31 October to Sunday, 29 November 2026, the annual fitness initiative will mark its tenth edition with its largest and most community-focused programme to date.
Launched in 2017 under the vision of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, the initiative encourages residents and visitors to complete 30 minutes of physical activity every day for 30 days.

The inaugural edition attracted 786,000 participants, while more than three million people took part in 2025. Across its first nine editions, Dubai Fitness Challenge has recorded more than 16 million participants, establishing itself as one of the city’s biggest annual community events.
For 2026, Dubai Fitness Challenge will once again take over neighbourhoods, roads, waterways and outdoor spaces across the emirate. Four flagship events will anchor the calendar, including Dubai Run, Dubai Ride, Dubai Stand Up Paddle and Dubai Yoga. These will be supported by Fitness Villages, Fitness Hubs and thousands of free activities, classes and community activations.
The Challenge’s evolution has been closely tied to its large-scale public events. Dubai Run launched in 2019, opening some of the city’s best-known roads to runners. Dubai Ride followed in 2020, allowing cyclists to pedal along Sheikh Zayed Road. Hatta joined the programme with Dubai Stand Up Paddle in 2023, while Dubai Yoga was introduced in 2024, broadening the programme beyond traditional cardio-based activities.

As Dubai Fitness Challenge enters its second decade, the focus remains firmly on the 30×30 principle that started it all. What began as a month-long challenge has developed into a citywide movement centred on health, participation and community, while supporting Dubai’s ambition to become one of the world’s most active cities.
And, judging by previous events, you may even bump into royalty. At the Dubai Run in 2023, the Crown Prince of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, joined the 10-kilometre race.
On your marks, get set, Dubai.
