The World Islands resort will span six islands.

Dubai is filled with marvellous megaprojects. The World Islands is one of the most ambitious ventures and is home to The Heart of Europe. Developed by Kleindienst Group, IHG Hotels & Resorts has confirmed that it will launch InterContinental Resort Portofino, The Heart of Europe in 2026.

InterContinental Resort Portofino, The Heart of Europe marks the brand’s first resort property in Dubai. Situated in the centre of The World Islands, the hotel will span six islands, featuring 466 rooms and suites with sea views.

InterContinental Resort Portofino, The Heart of Europe will also be dedicated to supporting marine life. The hotel will include floor-to-ceiling aquariums across six floors, which form part of The Heart of Europe Coral Institute. The Kingdom of Portofino will feature a kids’ club, kids’ theatre, outdoor play and water park. Plus, Italian culinary experiences and an environmentally-friendly rooftop garden.

The design will boast European architectural features, from contemporary Mediterranean design to traditional Italian influences inspired by Portofino and the Italian Riviera. Plus, the building will blend a modern colourful facade with ancient Feng Shui practices.
