Dubai has a new blue door to look out for. Lucy Lu, the speakeasy that began in Beirut’s Gemmayze neighbourhood, opens at 25 Jump Street this October.
Located behind 25hours Hotel One Central, Lucy Lu Dubai takes its cues from the Beirut original, where its reputation grew through word of mouth. Finding the entrance is part of the appeal, with a discreet blue door offering the first clue. The Dubai outpost keeps that playful approach, inviting guests to discover the speakeasy space for themselves.
Inside, deep maroon tones and dark wood create an intimate setting, while the concept’s signature warrior rabbit makes an appearance. The mascot is a familiar detail for anyone who knows the Beirut bar, giving the new venue a visual connection to its Lebanese roots.
“Lucy Lu was never meant to be found easily, and Dubai doesn’t change that,” says the team behind the concept. “The rabbit keeps watch. The door decides who comes in.”
At the bar, classic cocktails receive house twists, with drinks designed to complement the food. Sharing plates shape the dining experience, allowing guests to settle in over a meal before the evening gathers pace.
The atmosphere changes as dinner draws to a close. Lighting becomes softer, the volume rises and a live DJ takes over after dark. It is a progression that gives Lucy Lu room to function as both a dinner destination and a place to continue the night over drinks.
